I’m an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Loyola Marymount University, where I teach courses in Comparative Politics and International Relations. My research broadly focuses on issues related to conflict and security, with emphases on foreign and defense policy, civil war dynamics, violence against civilians, and state repression. Current projects investigate patterns of political violence in refugee-hosting countries and the implications of unmanned aerial vehicles, or “drones,” for foreign policy, international relations, and pubic opinion regarding the use of force.
